Advanced dance classes for children age 9 and upwards covering RAD ballet, ISTD tap and modern, musical theatre, acrobatics and contemporary styles like street, lyrical, and commercial dance to enhance technique and performance.
Intermediate
Our class for our oldest dancers aged 9 and above. We focus on more advanced dance syllabus and technique. The class includes RAD ballet and ISTD and I-Path tap and modern and is suitable for children aged 9 and above.
This class is a combination class and includes ballet, tap, modern, character and musical theatre. The class includes an introduction to different modern dance styles including street, lyrical and contemporary dance. This allows the children to experience a range of different dance styles and is designed to allow them to develop their self confidence and performance skills.
RAD and ISTD dance syllabus
The Royal Academy of Dance and ISTD syllabus has been designed in line with a child’s developmental stages and by world experts. They are the syllabus used by professional ballet and stage schools including The English National Ballet School, the Royal Ballet School and Elmhurst Ballet school who all take vocational exams with the RAD.

There is also an acrobatics class suitable for Intermediate dancers. We follow the Acrobatic Arts syllabus, the world’s most trusted acrodance syllabus. It includes flexibility, balance and tumbling and complements many other dance styles.
Our Musical Theatre class includes drama, singing and modern dance. It’s an all round Performing Arts class using acting, song and dance to develop their self-confidence and performance skills. It’s a great addition to our dance classes and gives the children even more opportunities to perform and shine.
Street and commercial dance includes moves including popping and locking to high-energy choreography inspired by street dance and commercial hip hop. It’s a very expressive class and helps to build confidence, self-expression and positivity by expressing themselves in a fun way. It’s an energetic dance style with exciting choreography exploring the different dance styles to popular music. It encourages expression and improvisation and encourages creativity and confidence.
Performance Group
We invite all of our Intermediate dancers to be part of our friendly performance group. It is designed to give the children opportunities to perform and shine. We have already seen a huge increase in their confidence since we started the group. Even our shyest and quietest children performed full of self belief and glowing confidence. They perform at local events and fetes and enjoy the additional opportunities to dance and entertain as well as our show. It is a non-competitive group..
Class Assistants
Our Intermediate dancers are encouraged to support our youngest dance classes. This helps develop a range of important life skills and is great for their CV’s. It develops their confidence, social and communication skills. The younger children also enjoy having an older student in their classes to aspire to.
