Leap Dance Midlands prides itself on safe, support, inclusive classes with high quality teaching. We teach Royal Academy of Dance ballet and ISTD tap, modern, street and commercial and drama, theatre and performing arts and Acrobatic Arts acrodance.
We offer classes for children of all ages and all our classes are designed by the Principal Elaine and her trained team. Elaine is a qualified and experienced Royal Academy of Dance Registered Teacher.
We want all our children to feel safe, supported and part of our dance community. We deliberately keep our classes small so we can support all of our students and give them the attention they deserve to develop and thrive.
Royal Academy of Dance technique and syllabus is at the heart of our classes. The RAD are internationally recognised and are one of the world’s most influential and respected dance organisations, known for professional standards and quality teaching. Our classes are suitable for beginners and those that have danced before. All of classes are fun and sociable, whilst developing co-ordination, social skills, confidence, health, fitness and well-being.
Our children’s classes include a range of dance styles to inspire your child including ballet, modern, tap and musical theatre. We follow the tap and modern syllabus of the ISTD to give your child the chance to experience a wide range of dance styles and genres. We follow the syllabus of Acrobatic Arts, the world’s most trusted acrobatic dance.
Our Drama, theatre and performing arts classes includes drama, singing and modern dance. It’s an all round Performing Arts class using acting, song and dance to develop their self-confidence and performance skills.
Our street and commercial dance class explores all the latest moves to popular music and is a fast paced and energetic dance class.

Ages 1 to 4. An introduction to dance for toddlers/ minis and their grown ups. A fun and friendly class that introduces your toddler to the joys of dance, music and song. This class develops their co-ordination skills, social skills and musicality. This gives you the perfect opportunity to bond with your child whilst getting fit and meeting new parents and grandparents.
Preschool Dance Class 10:30-11:15am Saturdays
A fun and friendly class for children ready to join in without their grown up. This is a creative movement class, usually from aged 3 to 4. This class gives your child an introduction to the movements that develop into dance steps. This class uses props, themes and imaginative dance to develop your child’s imagination, creativity and confidence. It also develops coordination, balance, social skills, confidence and creativity.
Preschool Acrobatic Class 11:15-11:45pm Saturdays
Our preschool acrobatics class is perfect for children who haven’t started school yet and beginners to acrobatics. This acrobatic gymnastics class follows the trusted Acrobatic Arts syllabus, offering a fun, creative, and energetic environment for your little one to develop flexibility, balance, and coordination. If your child loves cartwheels, handstands, and tumbling, this class is ideal for them.
Mini Drama, theatre and performing arts 10:45-11:15am Saturdays
Our Mini Drama, theatre and performing arts with modern dance is for Primary age children age 4 and above. The Performing Arts class includes drama, singing and modern dance which includes jumps, turns and leaps to lively and upbeat music. This class is ideal for the natural performers and for children who want to grow in confidence in a fun, supportive environment.

Primary Class 11:15-12:15pm Saturdays
Our Primary Class is for children of school age, age 4, 5 and 6. The Primary class includes ballet, tap and modern following the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus with free creative dance. This class allows the children to learn a range of dance styles including ballet, tap, and modern developing technical skills, confidence and creativity in dance.
Acrobatics Dance Class 12:15-1pm Saturdays
We have an acrobatics dance class for children aged 4 and over. We follow the syllabus of Acrobatic Arts, the World’s most trusted acrodance syllabus. We work on flexibility, strength, balancing, limbering and tumbling skills in an energetic 45 minute class.
Drama, theatre and performing arts with Street, Jazz and Lyrical Dance 1-2pm Saturdays
Our Musical Theatre class includes drama, singing and modern dance for children age 6 and above. It’s an all round Performing Arts class using acting, song and dance to develop their self-confidence and performance skills.
Street and Commercial, Lyrical and Jazz Dance 1:30-2pm Saturdays
Our Street and Commercial hip hop class includes all the latest moves to energetic music. It encourages self expression and creativity whilst exploring old skool moves as well as current commercial dance.
Junior Class 1:30 pm-3pm Saturdays
We also have a Junior Class for children aged 6 and over. We begin to focus on the syllabus of the RAD and ISTD and I-Path dance organisations. The Junior classes are a combination class including ballet, tap, modern, character and musical theatre. This allows the children to experience a range of different dance styles and is designed to allow them to perform with confidence and creativity. As well as exam work we do lots of creative free work and workshops within our classes to inspire and develop your child’s imagination and ability to learn and try new choreography.
Intermediate Class
2-3:30pm Saturdays
Our class for our oldest dancers. We focus on more advanced dance syllabus and technique. The class includes RAD ballet and ISTD tap and modern and is suitable for children aged 8 and above.

Hilton is a village location in South Derbyshire, between Derby and Burton On Trent. It is easy accessible from Burton, Derby, Findern, Willington, Hatton, Etwall, Tutbury, Eggington, Repton, Milton, Ingleby, Foremark, Barrow On Trent, Melbourne, Ticknall, Foston, Rolleston on Dove and Stretton.
