Leap Dance Midlands Children’s classes include a range of dance styles. The toddler and grown up classes include dance and musical movement. The younger children’s class are themed to inspire the children’s imaginations and creativity. The older children’s classes include a range of dance styles including ballet, modern, tap and musical theatre. Taught by a taught by a qualified Royal Academy of Dance graduate teacher. Experience of supporting SEND students. Classes are in Repton and Willington in Derbyshire and Anslow and Tutbury in Staffordshire.
We offer regular examinations in RAD ballet and ISTD and IDTA modern and tap known for professional standards and quality teaching. The exams are accredited and provide UCAS points (that count toward University). Exams are encouraged as they allow the children to show the hard work they have put in and measure their progress, but not compulsory.
All students are invited to perform in the school show and demonstrations. Class tests and demonstrations are also held so everyone gets a chance to demonstrate their hard work. We also like to feel part of the local community by performing in local fetes and events.
We include free creative work and themed sessions in our classes which encourages and develops a sense of performance, creativity and musicality for all our students.
We are always keen to introduce new dance styles including lyrical and contemporary dance so that all our students are well rounded performers. We also have guest teachers and workshops that offer students to try a range of new and current dance trends.
Ballet Be Fit is a gentle, low impact fitness class inspired by ballet. It includes warm up, barre work, muscular conditioning exercises including the arms and upper body as well as leg and lower body toning exercises. Ballet be Fit Midlands helps improve fitness levels, corrects poor posture, improves flexibility and mobility and co-ordination. It also improves muscle tone but in a gentle way. This means it is suitable for people who want to exercise but have health limitations and allows the to participate safely and carefully. Ballet fitness is the perfect way to get fit but without it feeling like exercise.
Ballet Be Fit Midlands is also beneficial for overall well-being. Ballet fitness helps with relaxation and stress relief and can aid fatigue and improve sleep quality. By focusing on the movements it allows you to take your mind away from external pressures and be in the moment.
We also offer Beginners and Improvers Pure Ballet classes specifically designed for adults. We follow the technique of the RAD but in a safe and supportive environment where everyone is welcomed and encouraged to blossom and learn ballet steps and choreography. No leotards or pointe shoes are needed, the class is designed to support and encourage anyone that has always wanted to try ballet or misses it and wants to return after taking lessons as a child.
