Mini Drama, Theatre & Performing Arts (Ages 4-6)

Our Mini Drama, Theatre & Performing Arts class is the perfect introduction to theatre and performance.
Through fun games, storytelling, character activities and performance exercises, children develop confidence, creativity and communication skills whilst enjoying a wide variety of imaginative activities.
The class has been created following the success of our older performing arts students. We have seen first-hand how drama and performance help children grow in confidence, and we are excited to bring those same opportunities to our younger students.
Mini Drama, Theatre & Performing Arts runs alongside our dance classes and is a fantastic choice for children who enjoy using their imagination, performing and working with others.
Junior Drama, Theatre & Performing Arts (Ages 7+)
Saturdays in Hilton, Derbyshire 1-2pm
Our Junior class allows children to explore drama, theatre and performance in greater depth.
Students learn about characters, emotions, reactions, storytelling and stage presence through a variety of engaging drama activities and performance projects.
We encourage children to think about why characters behave the way they do, how emotions influence reactions and how performers communicate with an audience. Through these activities, children build confidence, self-expression and communication skills that benefit them both on and off the stage.
One of the things we love most about this class is seeing children grow in confidence and develop friendships whilst having fun and being creative.
Inspired by Theatre and Musicals
Children love exploring themes, characters and performance styles inspired by popular musicals and theatre productions.
Recent performance work has included material inspired by High School Musical, Annie and Wicked, with students exploring characters, emotions, storytelling and performance techniques from productions they already know and love.
Opportunities to Perform
Performance is a key part of our Drama, Theatre & Performing Arts classes.
Students have the opportunity to perform in our Winter Showcase and Summer Shows, giving them the chance to share their achievements with family and friends and experience the excitement of performing in front of an audience.
These performance opportunities help children develop confidence, resilience and a real sense of achievement.
Ballet, tap and modern dance and acrobatics classes at Leap Dance
One of the benefits of our Drama, Theatre & Performing Arts classes is how well they complement our other classes at Leap Dance Midlands.
Many of our students combine Drama, Theatre & Performing Arts with Ballet, Tap, Modern and Acrobatics classes, helping them develop confidence, creativity and performance skills across a variety of disciplines.
For our younger students, Mini Drama, Theatre & Performing Arts works perfectly alongside our Ballet and Tap classes and Acrobatics classes. While our Junior students often combine their theatre training with Ballet, Tap, Modern and Acrobatics.
Together, these classes help develop confident, versatile performers whilst allowing children to explore the aspects of performing arts they enjoy most.
