Introducing Mini Drama, Theatre & Performing Arts-Age 4-6
Following the success of our older performance classes, we’re delighted to launch our brand-new Mini Drama, Theatre & Performing Arts class for children aged 4-6.
Designed especially for our youngest performers, classes include:
- Drama games
- Creative activities
- Storytelling
- Character play
- Performance skills
- Imaginative learning
- Confidence-building exercises
Children will learn how to express themselves, work as part of a team and develop important communication skills, all while having lots of fun.
The class takes place alongside our existing ballet, tap and acrobatics timetable, making it easy for families to combine classes.
Drama, Theatre & Performing Arts (Ages 7+)
Our older class has become one of the most enjoyable and rewarding parts of our timetable.
Through fun games, drama activities, performance work and dance, children explore:
- Character development
- Emotions and expression
- Reactions and relationships
- Storytelling techniques
- Stage presence
- Confidence and communication skills
We encourage students to think about why characters behave the way they do, how emotions influence reactions and how performers bring stories to life on stage.
Most importantly, it’s a welcoming and enjoyable class where children can grow in confidence and learn to express themselves.
Based in Hilton, Derbyshire, our classes welcome children from Hilton and surrounding areas including Hatton, Etwall, Repton, Willington, Findern, Rolleston, Stretton, Tutbury and Burton upon Trent
Dance Meets Drama
Our Drama, Theatre & Performing Arts class doesn’t stop at acting.
Students also explore a variety of dance styles throughout the year, helping them become confident and versatile performers.
This term we will be focusing on Street Dance, which will form part of our Winter Showcase performance. Future terms will include styles such as:
- Jazz
- Contemporary and Lyrical
- Commercial dance
We’re also excited to welcome our new Street and Commerical Dance teacher, a graduate of Addict Dance Academy, one of the UK’s leading professional dance training providers. Their training and experience will bring fresh energy and expertise to our Street Dance classes as students work towards this year’s Winter Showcase.
This variety keeps classes exciting while helping children develop performance skills across different disciplines.
Inspired by Theatre and Musicals
We love exploring the shows and characters that inspire our students.
Recent performance pieces have included High School Musical and Annie, while we’ve also explored themes, characters and performance styles inspired by Wicked, Nativity, Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and other musicals loved by our students.
These familiar stories help children connect with performance through characters they already know and enjoy, while developing their understanding of storytelling, emotion and stagecraft.
Opportunities to Perform
One of the highlights of our Drama, Theatre & Performing Arts classes is the opportunity to perform in front of an audience.
Students work towards performances in our:
❄️ Winter Showcase
☀️ Summer Shows
Performing is a fantastic way to build confidence, celebrate achievements and create special memories with friends and family.
Building Confidence for Life
While performing is an important part of our classes, the benefits go far beyond the stage.
Drama, theatre and performing arts help children develop:
- Confidence and self-belief
- Communication skills
- Creativity and imagination
- Resilience
- Teamwork
- Social skills
- Self-expression
Many parents tell us they notice the difference not only in performances but also at school, with presentations, friendships and everyday confidence.
